My name is Christine Smith,
I am a full-time woodturner and bird-carver located by the Nantahala National Forest in North Carolina.
Since 2015 my motivation to create art out of wood has evolved in to intricate bird carvings combined with wood turnings. My materials are mostly sourced from our local area.
It is always amazing to discover what bird species live hiding in our trees and what beauty lies beneath the bark of a fallen tree. Educating the public of our surrounding nature with wood-turnings and realistic bird-carvings has become a mission.
