My day job is Productmanager Woodturning at Neureiter Maschinen GmbH in Kuchl, Austria. There I am responsible for the product range around woodturning. In addition to customer service, my responsibilities include portfolio management, including the creation of manuals, coordination of certifications (CE) and their documentation. In addition to production monitoring, supplier discussions and incoming goods inspection, my tasks also include the further development of existing tools and machines, as well as the development of new equipment. I am in permanent contact with our suppliers. I regularly act as a demonstrator for our machines at home and abroad, giving demonstrations in German and English. For this, a subconscious handling of the machines is a matter of course, but also the confident handling of different tools is a basic requirement. In my small turnery, founded in 2017, I now mainly produce peppermills in manual production on hand-turning machines. Commissioned work as well as small serial productions are on the lathe regularly. Furthermore, I test tools and machines, and make samples and application examples in my workshop. Due to customer demand I teach in my workshop on a one-to-one basis. Here I respond to individual wishes and questions of my customers and give desired information. From time to time, articles appear in the German Woodturning magazine “Drechslermagazin”, for which I freelance. In social media (YouTube, Instagram) I am active under "Marei Hoiz" and on YouTube can be found under the same name videos on various topics related to woodturning, most of them in German language, but more and more with English subtitles.
